There is a lot of crazy stuff that happens in the world of modding and tweaking surrounding Garry’s Mod and Half Life 2: Deathmatch. From crazy RPG influenced levels to maps where you are attacked by approximately 5000 headcrabs (it gets rough) people with time on their hands and a bit of creativity can do some crazy stuff.

For this video to make even a tiny bit of sense, you need to know the context. iDaft is a Daft Punk console, which can be found here, allowing you to add the vocal tracks to Daft Punk sounds “Harder Better Faster Stronger” and “Tecnologic” on a variety of tools, from your PC to you iPhone (there is an app I believe). I like Daft Punk, so have spent an unfortunate amount of time pressing these buttons to create my own mixed up versions of these tunes, and now there is one more way you can do so. Half Life.

Basically, someone has modded the iDaft console into the game, so simply by pressing the use button, you can play along to “Harder Better Faster Stronger”. I haven’t tried this out myself yet, I’ve not got the game currently installed, but it seems to also have the background track enabled, which is pretty neat.

If you want to download the map, you can do so here and kudo to the guys at http://www.mannisfunhouse.eu/, especially ChrisGPOINT.

Josh Dean

Josh came to Game-Engine after running several other “web destinations” into the ground with constant re-designs and feature sets. After founding a website based about games, which again, suffered the fate of a perfectionist, yet poor, designer, Game Engine was created as a way to channel those energies in the direction of a poor, vunerable website. Afer co-founding Game Engine on a historic moment in intergalatic history, Josh turned his attention to web development yet again, muddled through it, and then started to “write” about what is probably his most normal interest, video games. Now Josh has expanded into poorly recorded screen captures and talking into cameras with painstaking conviction, as well as keeping up playing a lot of video games, then claiming that they are either ‘awesome’ or ‘rubbish’.
