More footage of the never coming out Duke Nukem Forever. Shame we're probably never ever going to ever play it

(Video: Watch this video on the post page)

I saw this and how could I not post this as video of the day. Seriously, if you had seen this, and happened to have the ability to post this on this here website, wouldn’t you? Oh. Well, it’s another trailer for the cancelled, much maligned Duke Nukem Forever. And man I wish I could play this.

No, it doesn’t look visually impressive, but the level of interaction looks awesome. However, it’s very generic, despite the different environments that have been used and enemies, it was just never going to be realistic for a game that was started in 1997 to stand up to one where the developers can pull a game out within two years.

I’m really interested in seeing how the rest of this saga pans out, what actually went on at 3D realms towards the end of the development, how the different versions of DNF panned out, over three different engines and essentially why things went so wrong. Anyway, the video above has a flying octopus, so enjoy!

More leaked footage from the much delayed and much cancelled Duke Nukem Forever. Shame.

(Video: Watch this video on the post page)

Oh poor Duke Nukem Forever. In development for what seems like centuries, countless different game engines and builds, none of which we ever really go to play. Maybe the enthusism for this series is fueled purely by the massive hype and inevitable fail of its development cycle.

After we were told that it was never going to be making its way for release, I guessed that we may well see a whole lot of screens, footage, design documents and all the rest of the stuff you’d probably of been able to unlock as extras had the game ever being released. Some more footage has found its way onto youtube, which will soon become the Duke Nukem Forever vault, and here it is. Nothing new is really seen, Duke kicks ass in a dirty underground environment. But it’s DUKE!

However, before you press play and I hope you haven’t already, it may be an idea to turn the volume down, prefrably muted as the music that has been dubbed over the top should really carry a health warning. Next time I write about this game, I hope to be able to tell you that all the versions have been released for free on a website. I wish.
