It had been bubbling around for a while, but it has finally been confirmed that there is a new Valkyria Chonicles coming to PSP, and there are some new screens out for it from the games recently opened website. Ok so, it’s all Japanese, but either way, it looks like the graphical style from the first game has been retained, even if it’s a bit more “muggy” on the PSP. Click on the image below to be taken to the gallery of screens and if you haven’t played number 1 and have a PS3, find it and play it!
Ever have that time where you just don’t get any games. You have a long barren period where you know that some good games are out, better than good games, and you just haven’t bought them, because you haven’t got money or just haven’t got the time. Here are my five, in no paticular order, that I will probably get just in time for summer.
[inFAMOUS]

InFamous was released in a period of open-world with moody hero overload, with Prototype also starring a super hero, albeit a angry, violent one. But Infamous has generally proved to be the more popular and better paced game, with “moral choices” set throughout the game, basing what powers and abilities you get from whether your actions are generally good or bad. As well as this, you can jump and bounce around the city, generally with a lot of things to do. It’s no GTA clone, but this title is one I want to get is purely because it looks a fun and interesting game, not necessrily because it is just another open world game.
Red Faction: Guerrilla

Metal Gear Red Faction coming soon
Whilst this is another open world game, I’ve been drawn towards this one for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s got some crazy physics going on that looks really good, secondly, it shares many qualities with Saints Row 2, which I suprisingly love and finally, I enjoyed the demo. Whilst I don’t base all my views on a demo, as they obviously polish the demo to perfection before release, based on various reviews, including Skosh’s on the site, it looks like something I could sit down and play for a bit, to counter my overload on RPG’s of late.
Killzone 2

The real game actually turned out to be pretty good looking in its own right
Before I get flamed, I have played Killzone 1, and thought, beneath the blurry textures and compressed audio and at times, convouluted story, enjoyed it in concept. So have looked foward to this one for a while, though I was kind of put off by the supposed “Real time graphics” at that E3 press conference. But I’ve played a bit of this game already at various places and really think that its one of the most enjoyable shooters of this year. Whilst some may be reading this and claiming that I’ve been “PS3′d’ into Sony’s plot, I play games if they are good and appeal to me. Killzone 2 does that, hence being on the list. Plus, you shoot helmets off Goldeneye style. Sold.
Resident Evil 5

Eating of faces is still guranteed, even outside a teenage party
Being a fan of the new style Resident Evil 4 took, you may think this is a given. However, I also loved the old style Resident Evils. So imagine my dismay when I saw the previews of Resident Evil 5 looking all sunny and stuff. How would they create the same tension as zombie dogs bursting through walls. Well, from the looks of things, they did so in an unconventional way. By giving you an old school and to be honest, out of date control scheme, a partner who loves using your kit (don’t read into that) and sending a lot of dudes who want to kill you. Whilst the control of the game may be what puts me off, other factors, such as it’s graphical prowess and storyline (I want to know how it all ends) that really drives me to what to get this game.
Valkyria Chronicles

It may look confusing, but the cartoon/anime vibe with great design, makes me want
The antitheisis of the above games, Valkyria Chronicles is another one of those “critics darlings” which was much loved by those who played it. Just less so by consumers. Taking place in an alternate Second World War esque fantasy era, it combines JRPG and real time strategy elements and ties it all up in a beautifully designed an unique package. It also promises a substantial story and various choices into how things develop. Needless to say, you are not going to get many expriences like it due to its poor sales numbers. So in a way, that is what makes me want to buy this game.
So, have I made any glaring omissions, bearing in mind this was only a list of five!
